Catherine ‘Kay’ Cooper
Wynantskill – Catherine ‘Kay’ Cooper, of Hidley Road Extension, died July 20, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Watervliet she had resided in Wynantskill for 50 years and was wife for 50 years of William W. Cooper.
Kay was a bookkeeper for St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill for several years , retiring over 10 years ago. Many years ago, she worked at the Troy YMCA on First Street in Troy.
For many years she was a member of the Tamarac Twirlers square dance club.
Survivors in addition to her husband include a sister, Sophie (Jack) Harvey of Pittsfield, MA and two nephews, Michael Sofocleous of Fairfax, VA and Frank Sofocleous of Falls Church, VA.
