Catherine Cathy H. Hamm, 71, of Cumming, GA died on April 25, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Antioch, WVA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret Howard. Her beloved husband, John J. Hamm, Jr. also predeceased her. Beloved mother of 5 and grandmother of 6, Cathy placed family above all else and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She always had an open door, a hot meal and provided a warm and loving atmosphere for all who knew her. Cathy is survived by her daughters, Tonya (partner, Susan Wells) Hamm of Chapel Hill, NC, Bonnie Hamm Burleigh of Cumming, GA, Sarah (Jonathan) Spencer of Decatur, GA, Meg (Lee) Joyner of Newnan, GA; son, John Jay J. Hamm, III of Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Polly McFarland of Middleton, OH; brothers, Dewey Howard of AZ and Jerry(Donna) Howard of Tampa, FL; and grandchildren, Becca Burleigh, Cameron, Lily and Caleb Spencer, and Jasper and Catie Joyner.
