Catherine Farneti, 92, of Oglesby, died at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Manor Court in Peru. Catherine was born on March 29, 1918 in LaSalle to Peter and Margaret (Passini) Garzanelli. She married Nello Farneti on February 4, 1939. He died on April 2, 1976.
She was a co-owner of Garzanellis Supper Club in Oglesby for 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Family Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by 3 daughters, Judy Courson, of Peoria Heights, IL, Rita DeAngelo, of Peru, and Susan (Charles) Nelson, of Morris, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a sister and best friend, Elsie (Percy) Porter of Oglesby. Catherine was devoted to God, her church, her family and friends. She loved to cook and bake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nello, two sons-in-law, Ron DeAngelo, and Paul Courson, and two brothers, Mario and Nino Garzenelli.
