Catherine (Cathy) Joan Bennett of Englewood born August 25, 1945 passed away peacefully on October 26, 2017. Born to Otis and Seffie Bennett of Englewood and she was the sister of John and Raymond.
Cathy was an active young lady competing in numerous athletics. She placed second in state tennis in high school. She went on to work for Swedish hospital as a nurse’s assistant and then cared for her aging mother Seffie.
Cathy had a fond love of all creatures. The ravens were her friends, the mice her companions, and the squirrels were the first to greet her in the morning for breakfast. She ensured that every creature was fed even if she went without. She cared for every stray she came across, and even in the end of her journey she could name every pet she had.
In her final months she enjoyed her time playing Bingo, singing and dancing and going to lunch with her friends from Abby’s Assisted Living.
She is survived by John (Terri) of Aurora, nieces Jessica, Jennifer (Wes), Amanda (Nick), nephew Justin (Kate) and numerous great nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by parents Otis and Seffie, brother Raymond (Marilyn) and pets Tinker Bell, Spike, Easy and many others.
