With profound sadness we announce the passing of Catherine Genelle (Gerber) Chittick, age 70. Cathy left us peacefully on September 13, 2020 following a brave battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
A resident of Cocoa Beach since 1985, Cathy was born on November 5, 1949 in Bloomington, Indiana to Joseph and Garland (Chaudion) Gerber. She was a graduate of St. John Catholic School (elementary) and Tipton High School in Tipton, IN. She received her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. Cathy worked as the Director of Business Development at Luke and Associates in Rockledge, FL. She was a woman of unshakable conviction and integrity who was loved and admired by all who knew and worked with her.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband Carl Chittick. She was the devoted mother of Nicholas Chittick, Robert Chittick, Virginia DaCosta (Russell), Joshua Chittick (Anna) and Lisa Dodson. She was the proud grandmother of David Chittick, Kinsey Hibler, Noah Chittick, Ashley DaCosta, Tyler DaCosta, Addison DaCosta, Connor Chittick, Amy Riggle, Michael Kurdziolek, and Kristopher Kurdziolek. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Gerber.
Cathy lived a fun and adventurous life traveling around the world with her beloved sisters Mitzi Brannum, Carolyn Teter, and Cynthia Sequin.
