Catherine C. Ruppel, 97 of Vincennes, passed away Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 10:15 AM at the Gentle Care Nursing Center. She was born September 25, 1915 in the St. Thomas Area the daughter of Joseph & Mary Halter Ruppel.
She was the last of nine children. She was a farmer/homemaker. She and her brother George was devoted to Organic farming and practiced the principles all of their life on the farm. She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was active in various church events, picnics and social gatherings. She was generous to her church, St. Meinrad Abby, Sisters of St. Benedict and various catholic organizations. She is survived by 29 nieces and nephews, Several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Anthony Ruppel, Lawrence Ruppel, Frank Ruppel, George Ruppel and Joseph Ruppel. Her sisters, Mary Bono, Agnes Kocher and Sister Geraldine (Anna) Ruppel OSB.
