Savarese, Catherine A. (NEE: McMorrow), age 92, of Saddle River, New Jersey, passed away on December 8, 2015. Born on April 1, 1923 in New York, NY to Katherine (NEE: Ford) and Michael McMorrow. Formerly of Eastchester, NY; Scarsdale, NY; Niskayuna, NY; Virginia Beach, VA; and Darien, CT, she lived in Saddle River for the past 33 years. Beloved wife of Louis A. Savarese, whom she married on October 4, 1952 at Saint Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church in Queens, NY. Loving mother of John F. Savarese, Anne M. Savarese Bigham, Carolyn M. Savarese Patrick, and Gail C. Savarese. Mother-in-law to Harry J. Bigham, Jr., William Patrick, and Lynn Ashby-Savarese. Adoring grandmother of Katherine, Laura, and Michael Savarese; Julie and Grace Bigham; and Ian Patrick. Catherine also leaves six nieces and nephews: Mary Brennan Gerster, Vincent Brennan, Jr., Joan Brennan Hearst, David Brennan, Robert Savarese, and Yvonne Savarese Denissen. She is predeceased by her two sisters, Margaret F. McMorrow and Mary McMorrow Brennan. She was educated at St. Sebastian’s R.C. Grade School, Queens, NY; Bishop McDonald RC High School, Brooklyn, NY; and Hunter College, New York, NY. Catherine was a parishioner of St. Gabriel the Archangel RC Church, Saddle River, was active as a Valley Hospital volunteer, a member of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the Book, Garden and Saddle River Valley Clubs. All are invited to meet at St. Gabriel the Archangel RC Church, Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
