Catherine A. Fischer, 92, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022. She was born in Whitestone, Long Island, NY to Henry and Marion (Wiesner Appel. She was a graduate of Bayside High School, Blackstone College and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. In 1953, Catherine went to work for Harry Winston at Brandchatillon Jewelry Store on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. In 1968, Catherine married the love of her life, Joseph Fischer. She continued in the jewelry business with her husband for many years at their shop Fischer Precious Jewels in Little Silver and Rumson. Later, she also worked as a demonstrator at Costco in Hazlet. Catherine was an animal lover, and had great interest in gourmet cooking, traveling and fashion.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her sister, Marion Hussong and her husband Ray and her nephew, Ray.
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Lane and husband Robert and step-son, Joseph Fischer, her grandchildren; Kerri Whittom and her husband, Harry, Joseph Fischer and wife Megan, Christopher Fischer and his wife Serena and great-grandchildren; Derek, Connor, Braeden, Makayla and Christopher. And many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Much appreciation to Catherine’s dear friend and caregiver, Calvin Peterson.
