Today our precious mother, grandmother and friend took her final journey to heaven. Those of us that were lucky enough to know and love her we are very blessed and thankful to have been able to share our lives with her for the short time that she was here with us. Cathy grew up in an Irish Catholic family in California with stops in Chicago and Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Frances M. Cook and she loved her mother so much. She had such fond memories of her times as a child with her family, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandmother, where there never seemed to be a dull moment. As a child when her mother fell ill her family, aunts Jane Burton, Audrey Anderson, Mary Druan, uncles, Jimmie Burton, Bill Anderson, Ray Peifer, and grandmother, Catherine Peifer all stepped in and made sure that she was well taken care of and was always loved. She was married to her husband Douglas Zamarripa for 46 years prior to his passing in 2010. She was a loving and devoted wife. When Douglas fell ill she made sure that he knew how much he was loved and never left his side. Cathy had three children, Michele Barnes (Jarrod), Timothy Zamarripa (Kari) and Kellie Baca (Joe) that she loved so much. She devoted her life to her children sacrificing to ensure that they were always loved and cared for. She was such a great mother and friend to them all. She had eleven grandchildren, Christopher Akopoff, Sarah Cosman (Chris), Megan Huval (Brandon), Amanda Butcher, Andrea Butcher, Robert Zamarripa, Cody Butcher, Tyler Butcher, Hope Butcher, Nicholas Gamez, and Ryan Zamarripa; and four great grandchildren, Matthias Akopoff, Carson Huval, baby boy Akopoff coming in February, and baby girl Cosman coming in June. Her grandchildren/great grandchildren brought her so much joy and she loved every minute that was able to spend with each of them loving them, watching them grow and spoiling them.
