Cassandra Maria Dougherty, 75, of Pottstown, PA died Saturday, September 17, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family.  Known to friends and family as Sandy, she was the beloved wife of Michael D. Dougherty, with whom she celebrated 16 years of marriage this past June.  Born in New York City, she was the daughter of James E. Alleyne and Winifred E. (Richardson) Dorsett, both deceased.  A graduate of Morris High School, Bronx, NY, she attended Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell, PA.  Sandy was the Manager of System Network and Disaster Recovery for Fiserv, Inc., King of Prussia, PA for 16 years before her retirement in 2013.  She also owned and operated Inter-View, a business she founded that assisted recently released prisoners to locate employment with lessons in interviewing, dressing for the interview and assistance in finding training.  An avid reader and poetry author, Sandy was a regular at poetry readings at Godfrey Daniels Coffee House, Bethlehem, PA and other coffee houses.  She had finished a soon to be published book “Paperbag Sandy”.  Sandy had a giving heart.  She volunteered at numerous nursing homes and at the Council On Alcohol and Drug Abuse.  

 

Survivors: Husband, Michael D. Dougherty; daughters, Jasmine Maughmer of Pottsgrove, PA, Kristin Fornito and her husband Mark Fornito of Ridley Park, PA, Amanda Dougherty of Ridley Park, PA; sisters, Viola Jefferson of Brooklyn, NY, Ingrid C. Nathan and her husband Ronald of DeBarry, FL, Beth Brown of Howell, NJ; brothers, Godfrey G. Alleyne of Rocky Mount, NC, Paul E. Turner of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Sydney Maughmer, Noel Maughmer and his wife Tanya, Savannah Fornito; great grandchildren, Jaxx and Mylez; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her son, Paul R. Mamby and brothers, David Keitt and Arnold E. Smith.
