Casandra Lynn Baron, age 22 of Belleville, IL, passed away on March 5, 2021. Cassie was born on August 30, 1998, in St. Louis, MO. She was extremely intelligent, excelled academically, and is described as Ivy League College smart. She loved school, reading, and constantly learning.

Cassie enjoyed working out and was always ready to partake in any adventure, which included almost anything when the opportunity presented itself. She loved to drive and often proclaimed to her passengers that she was a race car driver so, “buckle up!” She and her passengers always made it to their destination safely, often with “12 minutes to spare”. She was always ready to leave for school 30 minutes early, every day, so she could get a large sweet tea from McDonalds. Cassie had a great and unique sense of humor and constantly made people laugh. She was always laughing. You would never see Cassie without a smile on her face. She will be remembered by many as the funniest person they have ever known and could have easily made a career of being a comedian.

Cassie had a “strange obsession…Catsup.” It did not matter how fancy the restaurant was, rest assured she would order chicken strips, french fries and a full bottle of catsup. There is nothing more Cassie wanted in life than a big, happy family. She always wanted to be around her siblings. Cassie loved hugs. She took every chance to hug you even if felt you did not need it. She had the sweetest heart. She, her sisters and best friend, Shelby Bauer, would often beg her father for his credit card so they could rent and spend days watching the movie, “Jennifer’s Body”.

She will be remembered as being the greatest sister anyone could ask for and a very loyal person to anyone who needed her. She would do anything for anyone she loved. Cassie and her cousin, Hailey Ham, were inseparable. They argued like a married couple, but they always made up right away. Cassie loved her cats, jewelry, and anything with diamonds. She was the type of person you could talk to for hours. She saw the rough side of life but she would sit and talk to you if you were upset, as if nothing was bothering her, just to make you feel better. Cassie loved to color as it took her mind off everything around her.

Surviving Cassie is her parents, Robert (step-mother Samantha) Baron of Barnhart, MO and mother, Angela Fults of Cahokia, IL; sisters, McKenzey Baron of Smithton, IL, Daisy Baron of Okawville, IL, Destiny Rewis of Granite City, IL, and Matilda Baron of Barnhart, MO; brothers, Michael Baron of Cahokia, IL and Jett Baron of Barnhart, MO; step-brother, Charlie Pratt of Barnhart, MO and step-sister, Alyson Phelps of Barnhart, MO; and many uncles. Cassie always knew her Dad loved her, his “Cassie Bear.”Cassie will be greatly mourned and missed by all who knew and loved her.
