Carter Curtain, (also known as Bro and Curt), was born the fourth of eight children on February 15, 1942, in Lessley, MS, to the late Walter and Millie Hawkins Curtain.
Carter attended Percy Creek Elementary School and Johnson High School in Woodville, MS. In 1963, after completing the 11th grade, he moved to Maywood, IL.
Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Millie Curtain; his wife, Dorothy Howard Curtain; one grandson: Cinque DJahspora; one brother: Edward Curtain; and two sisters: Edna Curtain and Marie Curtain Ross.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Jarrod Curtain of Bellwood, IL, and Herod (Bennetta) Curtain of Bellwood, IL; two daughters, Michelle (Jeffrey) Stewart of Jackson, TN, and Deshanda (Eric) Rodney of Broadview, IL; two sisters Eva Curtain of Maywood, IL, and Doris (Albert) Collins of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Walter (Lillie) Curtain of Maywood, IL; and one brother-in-law, Lee Andrew Howard of Port Gibson, MS, and one sister-in-law Lola Mae Curtain of San Pablo, CA; four granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
