Carroll Morrison, 89, of Minburn, died peacefully on June 24, 2021 at Kennybrook Village in Grimes.

Carroll was born on November 22, 1931 in Guthrie Center, IA to Charles and Ursul (Reed) Morrison. He attended Des Moines Technical High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Carroll drove truck for Briggs Transportation for 30 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #147.

Ruth Ann Duffield and Carroll were married in 1958 and lived in Minburn for 47 years. They loved to travel together during retirement and spent 20 winters fishing and sailing while living at their home in Gulf Shores, AL. Carroll enjoyed dancing and country music. He had a real sweet tooth, was a baker of apple and cherry pies and couldn’t go a day without eating a Blue Bunny ice cream bar (or two or three.)

Those who knew Carroll well will miss this sweet, feisty man, who had some great one-liners. His twinkly blue eyes showed his love for those around him and will be forever in our hearts.

Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann in 2012; his parents and his sister, Norma Griebel. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Michelle) Morrison of Dallas Center, John (Kim) Morrison of Fort Dodge and Penny James; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
