Mrs. Carrie E. “Tilly” Albright, 85, of Elkhart, passed away at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, following an extended illness.
She was born in Kistler, W.Va., on November 18, 1927, to the late Hal and Lillian (Hatfield) Curtis. She was a third-generation direct descendant of Hatfield of the infamous Hatfield-McCoy feud of 1863-91.
She married Verlin Albright on Oct. 30, 1943, in Logan County, W.Va. He passed away in Elkhart in 1995.
Also preceding Tilly in death were a son, Roy Albright; a brother, Ralph Curtis; and sisters Eva Lowther and Beulah Buzzard.
Surviving are her sons, Randy (Phyllis) Albright of Goshen, Vernon (Kathy) Albright of North Port, Fla., and Danny and Michael (Jenny) Albright, both of Elkhart; her daughter, Tammy (Marty) Morgan of Elkhart; brother Hollis (Gloria) Curtis of Virginia Beach, Va.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
