Carrie Lanette Benton was born December 21, 1943 in Huntsboro Rutherford, Alabama to the late Charlie and Georgia Williams. Carrie passed on July 29, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Diane Williams, Rosemary Williams, and Georgia Amos; and one brother, Charlie Williams. Her true love was her commitment to God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Everywhere she went, she loved to share her faith with everyone. She moved to East Chicago, Indiana at an early age, where she excelled in school. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Radiology Technology in June 1970. She was employed with St. Mary’s Hospital for over twenty years. She retired in Atlanta from Southern Regional and Southwest Hospital. Carrie loved her family. She was always excited when it was time for a family reunion or any family event. She instilled that in her children. Carrie leaves to cherish her memories her children: Candy (Rick) Collier, Donnell (Joy) Williams, Sandra Williams, Alaina (Eric) Smith, and Alencia (Quatar) Knight; stepsons: Clyde Benton and Randall Benton; grandchildren: Dameon (Nakia) Williams, Donnell (Kristie) Williams, Erin Smith, Hyslen Collier, Cameron Smith, Khloe Flemming, Tyson Knight, Dontavious Williams and Ryan Knight; five sisters: Rose Yeager, Geneva McKinley, Ann (Willie) Amos, Esther Parker, and Cynthia Mays; one brother Cheyenne Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
