Ms. Carrie Bell Westry Alston, was born October 24, 1935 to Matilda and Sam Westry Sr.
Carrie was an educator for Mobile Community Action Center for thirty-five years and mother of five girls which she nutured and reared to be beautiful and self sufficient women who cared for her during her time of sickness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Matilda Westry, brother Sam Westry Jr, one sister, Betty Thomas.
She was a faithful member of Little Zion AME Zion Church where she served in the choir and as an usher and deaconess and church secretary before her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Beverly (Robert) Dees, Vanessa (Marshall) Stalling, Antra (Johnny) Walker, Iris Westry, Matilda Flott, and four brothers, Calvin (Patricia) Westry, Ernest (Shirley) Westry, Julius (Maxine) Young, Eddie Westry, one sister-in-law Joe Ann Westry, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildrens with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
