Carolyn W. Abel, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Westminster Village, Allentown. She was the wife of John H. Abel, with whom she shared over 59 years of loving marriage.
Born in Elmira, NY, Carolyn was the daughter of the late James and Emma (Beck) Wilson. She was a high school English teacher, but later became the supervisor of the Lehigh University Art Museum. She also ran the Stock Market Game program for high school students across Pennsylvania. She will be greatly missed by her friends, her family and her co-workers.
Survivors: husband John; children Scot Abel and his wife Joanna of Florida, Eileen Abel and her husband Bill Lyster of Maryland, Eric Abel and his wife Amy of Quakertown; brother Jim Wilson and his wife Nancy of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Carolyn was predeceased by her brother, Mark Wilson.
