Carolyn Sue Thomas was born in Smackover, Arkansas, to Emerson Coit and Mittie Estelle Rivers, both deceased. The second of four children, Sue is survived by her sisters Lucy Aman and Ruth Stanley as well as her brother Jack Rivers. In 1978, Sue married Donald Thomas who preceded her in death in March 2016. Together, they are survived by their children Steve Thomas, Susan Ausec, Mary Thomas, and Kelley Coleman, grandchildren Chris and Melinda, and great-grandchild Troy. Outside of her immediate family, Sue greatly loved the entire Thomas Clan and regularly talked of the blessings they brought into her life. Sue graduated from New London High School in east Texas, attended San Diego City College and obtained a bachelor degree in Political Science from University of Colorado at Denver.
