Ms. Carolyn Sue “Susie” Lucas, 83, of Friendly W.V. Formerly of Salisbury left this world to rest in the arms of Jesus Wednesday January 25, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born May 2, 1939 in Barbour County W.V. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dessie Phillips both of Belington, W.V.
Ms. Lucas was preceded in death by her son Chuck Lucas and daughter Vickie Myers.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Debbie Butner of Salisbury, her brother Boyce Phillips (Sharon) sister Dee Webb (Frank) and sister Debbie Rutherford all of W.V. Grandchildren Jason Long, Joshua Long, and Morgan Pepper- Ingram (Sean) great grandchildren Corey Long, Raygan Hagler, Chris Gaither, Elizabeth Williams, and Paisley and Lillian Armour all of Salisbury.
She was a long time member of Mt. Pleasant Church in Friendly, W.V. and loved all her church family. She was an avid reader, involved at the Senior Center in St. Mary’s, W.V. and enjoyed doing volunteer work wherever needed. She loved birds and believed in living a healthy life.
