Carolyn R. Quinn (nee Newkirk), died Monday, November 7, 2011 at Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin at the age of 84. Mrs. Quinn was born in Riverside, NJ and was a longtime Burlington resident until moving to Surf City. She had worked for many years as a waitress, first for Millside Farms, then in the cafeteria of the Burlington Twp. High School and St. Mary’s Doane Academy before opening her own antique shop.
In her spare time she enjoyed antiquing, but what she most enjoyed was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Richard Quinn, Sr., and her beloved sons and daughters in law; Richard, Jr. and Sharon, Jeffrey and Steven and Barbara, her grandchildren; Richard and Carie Quinn, Peter Quinn, Jeffrey Quinn, Jr., Cheryl and Aaron Filippini, Diana and Brian LaBrose, Kimberly and Mike Tighe and her granddaughter in law Emily Quinn, her great-grandchildren Dylan, Connor and Jacob Quinn, Tyler and Aidan Filippini, Christopher and Michael LaBrose, Mason Tighe and Riley and Lauren Quinn and her brother in law John E. Quinn.
