Allene Carolyn Moon Foster, also known as Granny, of the Veazey Community, died Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the age of 86 at Savannah Court in Greensboro, GA. She was also known as Mama Cal to the many children she kept throughout the years. Carolyn was born June 1, 1935, in Greensboro, Georgia to the late John Henry Moon, Jr. and Allene Ruth Channell Moon. She graduated from Greensboro High School. On July 26, 1953, she married Buddy Foster and spent twenty years traveling with him during his career in the Marines. They returned to Greene County in 1967. Mama Cal was a homemaker raising their five children and kept many children that lived in the community.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris A. Toland of Monroe, GA and Elaine Standard and husband Haynes of the Veazey Community; two sons, Joe Foster and wife Diane of Siloam, GA and Ray Foster and wife Jan of the Liberty Community; sisters, Charlene Morgan and  husband Ellis of White Plains, GA and Rita Overton and husband Skip of the Veazey Community; brothers, Richard Moon of Greensboro and Roger Moon and his wife Linda of the Veazey Community; grandchildren, David Baloun and wife Jennifer, Amy McCannon, Chris Standard, Jamie Standard and wife Rachel, Adam Toland and wife Courtney, Matt Toland and wife Jessica, Jim Foster and wife Jennifer, Erin Sumner and husband William, Amanda Manley, Jordan Foster, Joanna Foster Gunn and husband Steven  and Eric Foster; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Foster; her son Paul Foster; and grandson; Kyle Foster.
