Mrs. Gore graduated from West Leyden High School in 1967 and attended Monmouth College then Northern Illinois University, completing her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1971. She worked in insurance for a time, then stayed home for a few years to care for her children and supported her husband’s career through a period of frequent relocation.

They were a devoted couple, taking care of each other all the years of their marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marvin Gore, whom she married on Feb. 16, 1974, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Elmhurst, Ill., and her parents, George Bernard and Virginia Alma Theresa, nee Ross, Ruppel.

Surviving are her children, Cheryl (Seth) Schaefer of Collinsville, Ill., and Christopher (Monica) Gore of St. Charles, Mo.; brother, Dr. James (Barbara) Ruppel, of Galesburg, Ill.; sisters, Patricia (the late Gary) Mukosey of Elmhurst, Ill. and Nancy (Michael) Weis of Willow Springs, Ill.; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
