Carolyn L. Stone, 87, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, May 26, 2013 with her loving family by her side. As she expressed many times, she would not leave this earth unless it was a beautiful sunny day and a bright and glorious day it was! Carolyn was born in Englewood, NJ and resided in Dumont and Bergenfield for many years prior to moving to the Jersey Shore.
She was a resident of West Point Island before moving to South Seaside Park where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of the Union Church of Lavallette, where she was a dedicated Sunday and Bible School teacher and a member of the Women’s Aide. She was also a past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Harmony Chapter and a former volunteer at the Lavallette Elementary School. Carolyn’s priority in life was to love and support her family.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed this role immensely. There was never a birthday celebration for her children or grandchildren that did not involve a coffee tin of her famous chocolate chip cookies! She was a loving mother to Robert E. Jr., Roger, Robin Neil and Russell. With much sadness her grandchildren, Gregory, Riki, Christopher, Timothy, Nicole, David, Jennifer, Edward, Trent, Sarah and Grace, mourn the loss of their beloved Gram. Carolyn was blessed to be a great-grandmother to Skylar, Araceli, Nathan and Dominic. She is also survived by her loving niece, Midge Denton and family.
Carolyn was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert E. Stone Sr.; her parents, Edward and Mary Marguerite Brasier; and her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Gale. Heartfelt thanks to Robin and Roger for the devoted care given to Mom during her final days. She was very blessed to have you both.
