Carolyn Joy “Candy” Parker of Cogan Station, formerly of Wolcott, NY and Manchester, CT, crossed the
threshold into her Heavenly Home on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Surviving are her husband of 41 years,
Pastor David Parker, daughter Johanna Kemmerer (Forrest) of Perkasie, PA, son Jonathan Parker of
Hampton, NJ and daughter in-law Grace, as well as grandchildren Jaron, Teddy, Benny, Theia and Levi
and mother-in-law Muriel Parker of Manchester by-the-Sea, MA.

Candy was born Oct. 16, 1947 in Evanston, IL. She is the daughter of the late Swen and Ruth (Wilkin)
Olin and the sister of the late Ruth Mary “Bonnie” LePage. She graduated from Covenant College with a
BSN and received a certificate in Midwifery from Birmingham Maternity Hospital in England. Her career
included many aspects of Obstetrics including establishing a Family Birthing Center at Illinois Masonic
Hospital, performing hundreds of deliveries as a Certified Nurse Midwife and spearheading a Fetal and
Infant Mortality Review program designed to identify and address the causes of infant death in the
Manchester, CT area. Her most fulfilling career, however, was as a mother, grandmother, wife and
partner in ministry.

Candy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and her life was a testimony to her
faith. She was a prayer warrior and time after time we saw how God would answer in amazing ways.
Her Bible contains hundreds of notations recording the times when she claimed verses in prayer for a
specific situation.
