SFC Carolyn Joyner Farrar-Johnson, born December 31, 1949, to Elizabeth Joyner Beckwith and the late Lonnie Joyner, Jr., departed this life on December 17, 2007.
Carolyn joined IBM Corporation in September 1966 and retired in October 1991. SFC Carolyn Farrar-Johnson was most recently employed as a training sergeant with the 11th Battalion, 80th Regiment, Officer Education System at Fort Belvoir, VA. She was assigned to Fort Belvoir as an active guard and reserve soldier in January 2007.
Surviving are one daughter, DeAngela Farrar-Perry (Brian); her mother Elizabeth Joyner Beckwith (James); one brother, Leon Joyner; one sister, Shirley J. Smith (William).
