Carolyn Hinton James, 77, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday evening, May 29, 2015, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Carolyn was born August 29, 1937, in Fleming County, a daughter of the late Fred Barnes Hinton and Bernice Stone Hinton.

Carolyn was a loving wife; mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She along with her husband were well known Walking Horse showmen throughout the state. She was an accomplished seamstress who made all of their apparel and attire worn when showing horses. Carolyn was also a great horticulturalist; she had a green thumb and loved to tend to her flowers. Carolyn was a lifelong member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church and The Ladies Kentucky Walking Horse Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Harold Stone James; 2 children, Robin (Todd) Walton and Mike (Melissa) James all of Flemingsburg, KY; grandchildren Jason Walton, Travis (Rachel) Walton, Matthew (Jenna) Walton, Alex James, and Aaron James; great-grandchildren, Addison, Anderson, Dylan and Stone Walton and Aden Redden; sisters-in-law, Madonna Hinton and Charlotte Beauchef; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Hinton.
