Carolyn (Donais) Lamoureux , age 90, died at the Linda Manor Assisted Living Facility on June 15, 2022. She was the daughter of Maryon H. (Cook) and Atny Joseph N. Donais.
She leaves a daughter, Donna Elle of Nantucket Island, MA.
She leaves her grandchildren Amy E. Manfredi of Marstons Mills on Cape Cod, Katie Lou Williams and her husband, Adam Williams of Weymouth, MA. She also leaves 4 great grandsons, Anthony and William Manfredi, Adrian and Christian Williams. She also leaves two dear friends, Gloria Collins and Brittany Collins of Southampton MA
Carolyn was born in Easthampton and educated in the Easthampton Public Schools graduating from Easthampton High School in 1948 and the former Westfield State Teacher’s College in 1952. She taught in Westfield and Easthampton for 33 years before retiring in 1993.
Carolyn was a past president of the Helping Hand Society, past president of the Easthampton Jaycee-ettes and past secretary/treasurer of the Easthampton Community Pool. She was a member of the Pascommuck Conservation Trust and a member of the former Wright Homestead. Carolyn was a precint member for 12 years. She was also a member of the Community Center and the Council on Aging, a member of the Tuesday Afternoon Club, The Emily Williston Library and a former member of the Loomis Communities. Carolyn belonged to the ‘Early Bird Bowling League’ for many years.
She was also a member of the Easthampton Education Association and the Retired Educators Association of MA. She was elected to ‘Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 1994.
She had a great love of music playing the piano and organ for so many years. She also was a soloist in the Easthampton Lions Club musicals as well as a soloist at college functions, weddings and social events.
