Carolyn Delois Smith Jackson was born February 21, 1958 in Decatur, AL to the late L.G. Smith and the late Hazel Carlisle Smith. Carolyn was called home quietly and peacefully on December 15, 2012 at her home.
She united with First Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. After moving to California, Carolyn remained faithful to her convictions. When Carolyn returned back to Alabama, she united with Unity Fellowship Baptist Church.
Carolyn was affectionately called “GrandMah” by her grandchildren. Carolyn had a gift of making people smile and laugh when she was in their company. She had a very distinctive laugh that everyone enjoyed hearing, Carolyn had a creative side and she enjoyed refurbishing furniture and making things. She loved being in the company of family and friends. One of Carolyn’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dale C. Smith.
