Jolene Caroline Skidmore, 89, of Pomona Park, Florida passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 22, 2021, surrounded by her children.
She was preceded by her husband of 49 years, Thomas W. Skidmore, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas W. Skidmore, III, and his wife, Linda Frank of Jacksonville and Stephen H. Skidmore and his husband, Charlie Scheckendgust of Ocoee; her daughter, Connie Ritchey, and her husband Glenn Ritchey of Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Skidmore attended Crescent City High School and the University of Florida where she studied voice and opera. She spent many years serving on the town council of Pomona Park. She was a respected member of Lake Como Lodge #200 of the Order of the Eastern Star and held many offices in that organization both locally as well as statewide. She founded the Crescent City Parent Teacher Organization and was instrumental in establishing the Community Health Services clinic in Crescent City. She was loved by one and all and will be sorely missed.
