Caroline M. Kemna, 100 of West Bend died Monday March 12, 2012 at the West Bend Care Center. Caroline Mersch, the daughter of John and Anna (Besch) Mersch was born July 17, 1911 in West Bend where she was raised and educated, attending Sts. Peter and Paul’s School. On January 7, 1936 she was united in marriage with Edward Paul Kemna at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, IA. The couple lived their married lives in Ottosen and West Bend, moving to West Bend in 1978. Survivors include her children: Robert (Carole) Kemna of Sun City, Arizona, Donald (Rae) Kemna of Georgetown Txs, Mark (Dorueen) Kemna of West Bend, IA, Ann Jergens of Humboldt, IA, Carol Roupe of Georgetown Texas, Virginia Chase of Bellvue, NE, and Marlys (David) Horky of Blair NE, 21 Grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, Siblings: Edward Mersch of Humboldt, IA, Nick Mersch of Eagle Grove, IA and John (Marcy) Mersch of Fort Dodge, IA. Caroline was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, as well as the ladies aid and CDA of the church. She enjoyed baking, quilting and playing cards. Preceding Caroline in death were her parents, husband Edward, daughters Janet and Kathleen, brothers Leo Francis, Paul Joe and Matt and her infant great grandson Logan.
