Caroline Cassie Lehner Huff, 77, of Pueblo, Colorado stepped through the veil on
Sunday June 13, 2021 following a recent illness.
Caroline was born November 1, 1943 in Billings, Montana. She was the sixth child of
Casper Lehner and Lillian Josephine Popelka Lehner. Caroline grew up in the
mountains near Absarokee, Montana watched over by her parents and older siblings.
She graduated high school in Molalla, Oregon.
Oregon. Following a brief courtship, they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple of The
children were born with one added through adoption.
As an empty nester, she went back to school attending Eastern Montana College in
Billings where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Caroline
held a certificate as a Master Food Preserver; as such, she always had a garden full of
the walls of her children’s homes. She also found the time to crochet and stitch. All of
the grandbabies have crocheted blankets. Of all her hobbies, her favorite was being a
grandmother to her 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Over the years Caroline and Bob lived in many places. There was something special
about each and every one of them. Some of her favorite places were the Grand Ronde
Valley in Oregon, central and western Montana, and the Pueblo area of Colorado.
known as an excellent teacher whether teaching children, youth, or adults. She served
as Young Women’s president, and in Relief Society and Primary presidencies. Caroline
served as a Stake Missionary with her husband Bob several times. She loved the
people she served with a giant heart.
Caroline leaves behind Bob, her spouse of 60 years, Robert E. Huff III (Sheryl), Casper
C. Huff (Wendy), Lorina D. Messenger (Carl), and Michael W. Huff,15 grandchildren
and 15 great grandchildren, sisters Agnes C. Nordahl (Lester-deceased) and Mary J.
Hellyer (Donald-deceased). Caroline is preceded in death by her parents Casper and
Lillian, her brother Clair Casper Lehner, sisters Shirley Mae Vegge (Gunvald) and Rose
Marie Lehner Hudson, and grandson Tyler James Huff.
