Born in Boerne, Texas, on January 3, 1934, she was the daughter of Julia Sotello Vasquez and Simon Rodriguez. She married Fernando Vargas in Boerne, Texas on April 28, 1950. In addition to her parents, Carrie is preceded in death by sisters, Josephine Rodriguez, Simona Montez, Lupe San Miguel, Toni Rodriguez, and brothers, Butch Rodriguez, and Joe Rodriguez. Carrie is survived by daughters, Alice Garcia and husband, Al, and Rosie Martinez and husband, Manuel; grandchildren, Alida Garcia, Amanda Hess, Teresa Widner, Adam Garcia, and Eric Martinez; great grandchildren, Jayden Garcia and Sadie Widner; sister, Victoria Hernandez.
