Carole S. Mathews, 77, a long-time resident of Anderson, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2020, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on November 4, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana. Carole was a truly remarkable woman who touched the lives of every person she came into contact with. Throughout her life she faced many obstacles; however, she never complained, and she conquered each one with dignity and grace. Her light will continue to shine on those she touched, and she will live on in our hearts forever. Carole is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Oscar) Roark. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Tabares, Stephen Roark, Jason (Hannah) Rogers, Andrew (Taylor) Rogers; eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Don (Jane) Troesken, Barbara (Larry) Bell, Diana Ferrell; daughter-in-law, Lydia Mathews; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Edwin Mathews; her son, Jeffrey M. Mathews; and her parents, Francis and Kathleen Troesken.
