Carole Diane (Parson) Westgaard, 74, died at her home in Erie, CO Wednesday March 9, 2016 after a two year struggle with cancer. At her side were her husband of 53 yrs., Erling (Jim), her sons Paul and Jon, daughter Kaari, son-in-law Yiannis Drakopoulos, daughter-in-law Jackie Westgaard, and her two grandchildren, Jack 5, and Violet 1, both whom she cherished. She is also survived by her sister Sandra Schlesinger and her husband Michael of AZ, as well as nieces and nephews in CT, TX, OR, WA, VA and CO.
An avid gardener, she left her 400 plant Hosta garden in Crystal Lake, IL, and with Jim moved to Colorado in 2012 to be near their grandson. Carole’s artistic talents were never better demonstrated than in her Botanical Illustration works which continually receive high praise from all who view them.
