Carole A. Duhamel, age 90, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, March 20th, at Plymouth Rehab and Healthcare. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald M. Duhamel. Loving mother of Stephen Duhamel and his wife Janet of Hanover, Jean Madden and her husband Stephen of Plymouth, Mark Duhamel and his wife Linda of Brockton, James Duhamel and his wife Laurie of W. Bridgewater, and the late Peter Duhamel. She was the sister of Deane Nightingale of Onset, and the late John Nightingale of MO. Carole is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.Carole was born in Brockton MA, daughter of the late Elmer R. and Winifred (Adams) Nightingale. She was a graduate of Brockton High School. Carole made her career as a Librarian for the City of Brockton. She started with the Downtown Library, and later moved to the West Side. She absolutely adored the children. She was a puppeteer, and with her many puppets she found a special way to reach them with two very special puppets Sparky, and Ben Bunny. Carole was a summer resident of Round Pond Maine, with many fond times spent there with the family. She was also a very active member of Christ Congregational Church in Brockton.
