Carol McIntyre, 75, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2021. She was born May 5, 1946, to Mark and Berniece Sedam of South Bend, Indiana.  She married Garry McIntrye on June 3, 1972. They lived in Mississippi and California before settling in Orange Park, Florida and were married for 49 years.

Carol received her Associate’s Degree in Business from Indiana University at South Bend and worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida from 1975 until 2005 when she retired. She worked in a few departments and served in a number of roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield including many leadership positions.

She was the embodiment of a supportive mother and spent many hours and weekends supporting both sons in their endeavors as students and athletes throughout their childhood.

Carol spent her retirement years managing the family business (Maxxim Construction).  She was beyond proud of her two sons and their accomplishments in their lives.  She was elated to gain two ‘daughters’ when both boys married.  The joy of her life was her four grandchildren.  She enjoyed gardening, shopping, traveling with her husband, and decorating.  She was known for her days at the beach with her boogie-board.  She was an avid Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars football fan and loved to cheer on her teams with her friends and family on the weekends.

Carol died surrounded by her loving family after a long and brave battle with lung cancer.
