SOUTHBURY – Carol Marie Boulanger, 88, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Howard Boulanger for 48 years.

Carol was born on March 31, 1934 in Torrington, CT, to James J. and Francis Morgan Hallihan of Ansonia, CT. Carol grew up in Ansonia and was a 1952 graduate of Ansonia High School where she was a cheerleader, basketball player, member of the Merri-Maids, and Senior Class speaker, among other activities. She was also a 1956 graduate of the University of Connecticut, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, a Freshman Class officer, and an English major. 

Carol spent most of her life in Connecticut. In her early career, Carol was a much-loved English teacher and substitute teacher while she raised an active family of four children. She later returned to the workforce, advancing her career from bank teller to branch manager at Connecticut Bank & Trust in Bethlehem before it was eventually acquired by Bank of America, where she served as assistant branch manager of the Danbury branch, retiring in 1999.

Carol lived in Heritage Village in Southbury for more than 30 years.

Carol is survived by her two brothers, James (Jaye) Hallihan, Loudon, TN, and Thomas (Nancy) Hallihan, Stuart, FL; three children, Timothy (Maureen) Boulanger, Denville, NJ; Michelle (Santiago) Pujadas, Devon, PA; and James (Kimberly) Boulanger, Quechee, VT; and seven grandchildren: Madison Pujadas, NY, NY; Sydney Pujadas, Pittsburgh, PA; Riley Pujadas, Devon, PA; Cosette Boulanger, Boston, MA; Steven “Mac” Boulanger, Denville, NJ; Sarah Boulanger, Quechee, VT; and James Boulanger, Quechee, VT.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Patricia (John) Prchlik and Barbara (James) Jordan; her husband, Howard Boulanger; and her son, Steven Boulanger.
