Carol Louise Howard passed peacefully on Sunday morning, October 31, 2021 in Gulf Breeze, FL. She was born on October 5, 1960 in Lamar, Colorado. She was 61.
Carol spent her childhood years in both her native Colorado and in Southern California. She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1978. After high school she worked as a nurse’s aide in order to pay her way through college. She married her college sweetheart, Tony Howard, in 1987, after which they shared 34 years together. She followed her husband from station to station during his Air Force career before permanently settling in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. As she moved with her family, she often worked as an office manager and as an animal nutritionist at various pet clinics across the country. Her love of cats was such that she brought numerous cats home with her. After settling in Florida, Carol became a stay-at-home mom fulltime. Her sons Greg and Mark were her world. She always sought after what was best for them. She often had to do the work of two parents due to Tony’s never-ending travels for work. Everything that is good in her boys came from her. An avid traveler with her family, she enjoyed venturing to new places, but her beloved mountains in Colorado always beckoned. Carol shared her love of music, movies, and books with her husband. Her prowess at Scrabble was such that her husband could never beat her. The possessor of a wicked sense of humor, her husband Tony immediately knew he had found his soulmate once he experienced it.
Carol was loved and cherished by many people including, Tony, her two children Greg and Mark, her sister Lisa Jackson, her nieces Auburn and Mikayla Warr, and her parents, Bob and Vicky Loeven, all of whom survive her and miss her dearly.
