Carol L. (Rutherford) Porterfield, age 65 of Midland, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at her home.
The daughter of the late Sy and Marion (Webb) Rutherford was born February 24, 1944 in Midland where she was raised and educated.
Carol married Robert Porterfield on November 16, 1963. After starting their family she joined her husband in Porterfield’s Auto Detail where she worked for over 20 years.
She was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa “Adawa” Indians and was actively involved with her husband in the Midland Street Association. Carol loved genealogy and crocheting, but most of all her family time and time spent at Six Mile Lake.
Carol is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert; son, Robert L. (Kristy) Porterfield, daughters, Brenda Strobel, Billie Jo Porterfield and her fiancé Tony Tripp all of Midland; grandchildren, Douglas, Jessica, Katy,Jennifer, Andy and Michael; brother, Mark Rutherford of Retsil, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Jim Rutherford and sister, Ann Jackson.
