Carol, daughter of the late William Lawrence Peterson and Marcia Stanton Peterson, was born September 7th, 1935 in Sisseton, South Dakota. She passed peacefully at Fulton County Hospital, Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at 4:10 p.m. It appears she passed of the affliction,”old age”, this after raising 8 offspring: Joe, Steve, David, Mark, Ben, Richard, Laurie, and Robin.
She survived 2 husbands, William Eugene Stokes and Robert Coe Thurston, both parents, 2 brothers, Larry Peterson and Foye Peterson, 2 sisters, Wilda Miller and Myrna Johns Murphy, and her son, David Clifton Stokes. Survivors to her are 7 adult children, 1 sister, Marlys Erma Peterson, 1 brother, Stanley Lawrence Peterson, and assorted nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
She enjoyed her upholstery business, and studying the scriptures. She baptized first with the Jehovah Witnesses, then attended Herbert Armstrong’s Worldwide Church of God, and finally Christian Identity Ministries. She was very interested in her Israelite heritage by way of the tribe of Dan.
