Carol June Trussell, age 84, died on November 29, 2018 from pneumonia and heart failure. She was born November 6, 1934 and was one of Kenneth and Velma Calkins’ four children. Raised on a farm in Iowa, she treasured her memories of country life.
Carol graduated from high school in Corning, Iowa and attended business school in Omaha, Nebraska. She met and fell in love with Charles Trussell.
Carol worked in the office of an Omaha manufacturer until 1955. They had four children, Tony, Sue, Rob, and Kay.
Charles work required frequent travel and moves. He affectionately called Carol the Executive Housewife because of her expanded role raising the children, taking care of friends, entertaining business clients, and renovating homes.
Carol is loved and missed by her family. She is survived by Charles, Grand Junction, CO. Sons Tony (Deanne) Kiester, MN, and Rob (Caitlin) Lakewood, CO. Daughters Sue, Bloomington, MN, and Kay (Paul), Athens, GA. She had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
