Carol Jean Barnes, 70 of Clarksburg passed away on September 2, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born February 18, 1949 in Clarksburg, daughter of Clyde and Juanita Harris Sellers.
Carol was a dedicated wife to William “Bill” Russell Barnes, Sr. & loving mother. She treasured her sons, William R Barnes II, Bridgeport and Jeffrey L. Barnes of Clarksburg. She especially loved her role as a grandmother to her two grandchildren, Gage and Zack. She had a caring personality and always made people around her feel special. She was a strong, beautiful woman who always loved taking care of her family’s needs and keeping family traditions. Carol enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, reading, family vacations at Audra campground, which were especially dear to her. She was an amazing cook and was the “glue” which kept the family close. She was truly an angel here on earth & will be so missed!
She is also survived by four siblings, Linda Stanley and Junior, Philippi, Cleawana Drayer and Lou, Enola, PA, Jim Sellers and Mary, Lost Creek, Paul Sellers and Nancy, Fairmont; sister-in-law, Cinda Sellers, Clarksburg; daughter-in-law, Arlene D’Agostino-Barnes, Boone, NC; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Sellers and Don Sellers.
