Carol Porter passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at home in Ogden, Utah surrounded by family. She struggled with Alzheimer’s for 10 years and died due to complications of the disease. She was born to John Martin and Emma Mary Nelson Johnson on January 1, 1942, in Ogden, Utah.

Carol married Edward Eugene Porter in the Salt Lake City Temple, on June 1, 1966. They had seven children and twelve grandchildren.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed serving and teaching. 

Carol was most recently a resident of Ogden and lived in other cities including: Provo, Utah; Moline, Illinois; Cedar Falls, Iowa; and Chandler, Arizona. She was a devoted wife and selfless mother who was politically involved and actively engaged in her community.

Carol is survived by her husband; her children, Celesta (Jeff) Perkins, Matthew (Kym) Porter, Melody (Phai) Lo and Sarah (Eli) Smith; 12 grandchildren; her sisters: Sharon Palmer, Miriam Wallace, Linda Baty, and Ralene McBride. She is now reunited with her parents and three children: Eujohn, Jeffery, and Brenda.
