Carol Jean (Metzinger) Musser, 73, of Bloomington went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at her residence in Bloomington with her family by her side.

She was born August 16, 1948, in Lafayette to the late Leonard and Lucille (Sondgeroth) Metzinger and was a graduate of Fowler High School.  She married Gary Musser on July 16, 1966, in Dunnington. Gary preceded her in death on November 15, 1998.  Carol was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker and was so proud of her family.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dunnington. She was very involved with her daughters’ activities and supported her family in all of their endeavors.  She cherished the time spent with her family, her grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed sharing about her grandchildren. Her friends and family knew that she was a trustworthy confident.  They could always vent and share with her, knowing that the information would stay with her. She loved to play games and have family game night, even making up games to play. Family time was her favorite time.

She was an avid Elvis lover and also loved Roy Orbison and George Straight.  She had a great sense of humor, but you never knew what would come out of her mouth! She had a very calming presence and was always very welcoming to people.

Above all, Carol was a fighter, born with a heart defect, Doctors were quick to put a timeframe on her life, but she always proved them wrong.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Monica (Doug) Short of W. Lafayette, Erin (Robert) Knelly of Bloomington; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Short of Cincinatti, OH and Holden Knelly and Kelsea Knelly, both of Bloomington;  6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister.
