SAKSTRUP, Carol B., Of Portage, MI. Formerly of Ann Arbor. Passed away on August 20, 2009 at her residence in Portage, MI. Carol was born August 21, 1916 in Sioux Falls, SD, a daughter of Charles and Lena Meyer and had lived in Mattawan and Portage for the past 5 years.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as a hostess at the Ann Arbor Town Club. Carol loved her family first and foremost, and her four children were blessed to have the world’s best mom. She enjoyed U of M Football and learned to enjoy MSU Basketball and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Kresten Juhl Sakstrup and by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Surviving are 4 children, Dennis Carol Sakstrup of St. Anthony, MN, Richard Carol Sakstrup of Ypsilanti, Ronald Sakstrup of Marenisco, MI and Sandy Bryon Bohnet of Mattawan, MI; 6 grandchildren, Britt, Kirsten, Kai, Kresten, Shannon and Kelly and by 3 great-grandchildren, Sophie, Grace and Ashley.
