Carol Anne Cunningham, 80, of Roswell New Mexico went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Carol was born on August 24, 1940 in Artesia New Mexico to Earl and Gladys Zeigler. She graduated from Artesia High School in 1958. She then attended Texas Tech University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. Carol married Carlos Cunningham on June 16, 1962 and made a home in Roswell New Mexico.
Carol was actively involved at First Baptist Church. She cherished her church family. Her Sunday School class brought her much happiness and many close friendships. Over the years, Carol served on several church committees and dedicated her efforts to working with the youth group among other important duties at the church.
Carol was a member of Roswell Chapter #10 of the Order of Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron. She treasured the many life-long friends she made from her time as an active member.
Carol was a dedicated loving daughter, wife, mother, and aunt who loved all of her family very much. She is survived by her daughter Carlyn Hancock and her husband Floyd of Portales, NM, a grandson Garret Hancock his wife Haley, and their daughter Emma of Portales, NM, a granddaughter Taylor Faver, her husband Tanner and their son Tate of Portales, NM, two nephews, Jerry and Phyllis Summers of Burkesville, TX, Tom and Joyce Summers of Alamogordo, NM, and three nieces Kathleen and Donnie Simpson of Pueblo, CO, Ann and Gary Biggs of Roswell, NM, and Susan King of Clarksville, TN.
