Carol Ann Ross, 86

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Carol Ann Ross, 86, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away April 17, 2019 at the Mountain Valley of Cascadia of Kellogg, Idaho.  She was born December 19, 1932 in Seattle, Washington; Carol was the daughter of Lowell Fred and Ruth Marie (Dahl) Smith.

Carol attended and graduated from the Auburn High School of Auburn, Washington in 1951; she then attended the Green River Community College.

Carol was united in marriage to Frederick “Fred” Ross on July 17, 1970 in Auburn, Washington.

Carol and Fred moved to the Silver Valley in 1988.  They enjoyed and spent many winters in Arizona.

Carol had first worked as a dispatcher for the Westinghouse Company in Tukwila, Washington; she enjoyed this position and would often joke “she could tell men where to go”.  She then owned and operated (along with her husband Fred) the Montgomery Ward store of Omak, Washington for ten years.

Carol was a member of the Miss Auburn Queen Contest organization, she served as director of the Omak Stampede Royalty; Carol had served as president of the Omak Soroptimist Club and had also served on the Omak Float committee.

Carol is survived by her husband Fred Ross of the family home of Osburn; two daughters Debbie (Rich) Kochanuski of Clifton Park, New York, Shelley (Keith) Henderson of Hillsboro, Oregon; two grandchildren Kayla Kochanuski of Phoenix, Arizona and Corrie Kochanuski also of Phoenix.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

Carol was known to be very quick-witted by her family and friends.  She was so very loved and will be dearly missed.
