A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Carol Ann Eby Olson, age 63, of Denver, Colorado, passed peacefully Saturday afternoon, February 3rd, 2018. She was surrounded by love in the presence of 33 devoted family members. Carol Ann was born in Denver, Colorado, and was the fourth of seven children of the late John Francis and Mary Kathryn ‘Mimi’ Eby. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Steve Olson, loving children Sarah (Darren) Masten, Shawn ( Ashley) Olson, grandchildren (Calvin Masten, Tatum Masten, Charlotte Olson & future baby Olson), siblings Kay Schultz, Peggy (Jerry) Kirkegaard, MaryPat (Jeff) Aardrup, John Francis (Kara) Eby, Gene (Patti) Eby & Jim (Jean) Eby, and treasured by many nieces and nephews. Carol Ann was loved by all who knew her. There was never a need she wouldn’t fulfill, there was never a life she didn’t Light. She was a dedicated mother and consummate caretaker who’s ministry extended from the young to the elderly. From Elitch’s to Waterworld, with her ‘clown’ car full of kids. Carol Ann had the magical ability to turn the most ordinary moments into the extraordinary. In the presence of Carol Ann, one could not but feel her unconditional love and acceptance. She managed to instill in the children she cared for a strong sense of thoughtfulness, politeness and kindness that never failed to impress and amaze parents. Carol Ann was also a caretaker to many elderly, including her mother Mimi and her Aunt, Betty Eby, who because of Carol Ann never saw the walls of a nursing home. A recent passion of hers was cooking for and organizing an annual ‘Coat Drive’ at Urban Peak, an organization that supports homeless teens. When things became tough and options were few her quick wit and sense of humor would shine through. This is when you would experience her gleaming eyes, mischievous smile and contagious laughter, which often contained “udderly” delightful pranks and shenanigans. But this never failed to overshadow the depth of her compassion and the level of her love. Many birthdays were simply never complete without her heartfelt singing birthday call. Playful, joyous, caring, loyal and giving of her time, Carol Ann was truly one of a kind. We ‘love ya’ Carol Ann!
