Carol Ann DeFries, age 55, of Francesville, formerly of DeMotte, Indiana passed away August 12, 2021 at Northwest Health-Porter.
She was born December 9, 1965 in Harvey, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene and Evelyn (nee Packingham) Davis, both deceased. Carol graduated from Thornwood High School, Class of 1984 and attended Prairie State College, Class of 1986 for dental hygiene. She married the love of her life, Dr. Kevin DeFries, who survives, on August 15, 1987 in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
Carol enjoyed gardening, especially taking care of her flowers. She enjoyed reading fictional books and loved caring for her family and grandchildren enormously. Carol was passionate about her job as a dental hygienist and worked for Dr. Castor, DDS in Remington for over 28 years. She also previously worked for Dr. Pampel, DDS and Dr. Balvich, DDS. Carol was a kind spirited, loving, mother, wife, sister, and Aunt and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and co-workers.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Kevin DeFries; children: Matthew DeFries of Jacksonville, NC; Angela (Sam) Madson of Kentland, IN; Mark DeFries of Westville, IN; 2 grandchildren, Logan and Nolan Madson; and sister, Ellen (John) Terpin of Cumming, GA.
