Carol Adele McGuire (81), the daughter of Ralph and Hildred (Elbert) Fandel was born on October 16, 1933 in Whittemore, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Carol was united in marriage to Mark T. McGuire Jr. on November 18, 1952 at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church, Algona, Iowa. From this union God blessed them with a family of twelve children, thirty-three grandchildren and forty-six great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish Carol’s memory are her children; Mary Ilah Weiland (Wendel) of Algona, IA, Dennis T. McGuire (Kathy) of Algona, IA; Linda Kunert (Doug) of Johnston, IA; Mark T. McGuire (Julie) of Centralia, MO; Cynthia Toal (Jon) of Ft. Dodge, IA; JoAnn Devin (Andy) of Lawrence, KS; Francis T. McGuire (Mary Kay) of North Liberty, IA; Bernadette Kaney (Joseph) of Eldridge, IA; Theresa Penick (Les) of Conrad, IA; Charles T. McGuire (Carrie) of Rock Island, IL; Ralph T. McGuire of Algona, IA (his dog Jake) and Sheila Timmerman (Tom) of Urbandale, IA .
Her grandchildren Chris, Carlena, Terry, Todd, Troy, Jennifer, Molly, Benjamin, Zachary, Rachel, Joseph, Marissa, Roxanne, Mark IV, Candice, Shawn, Adam, Alex, Aaron, Nick, Nathan, Sadie, Melanie, Scott, Brandon, Amanda, Megan, Chelsey, Lisa, Jill, Kris, Maddie, Mason, Tyler, Emma, Maura and forty-six great grandchildren. Her sisters Ida Rose Barone, Alice Flock and brother Mike (Rosemary) Fandel, and in-laws Darlene Fandel, Luke (Carol) McGuire, Mike (Debbie) McGuire, Richard (Rosalie) McGuire, Ann (Richard) Thompson, Mary Erma Reit, Florence (Carl) McGuire, Dorothy McGuire, Diane McGuire, and Ceclia McGuire. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev Mr. Mark T. McGuire, her parents, Ralph and Hildred Fandel, her siblings Willard (Glenese) Fandel, Josephine (Paul) Rink, Ralph (Mary) Fandel Jr., Gervase (Butch) Luedke, Robert (Dorthea) Fandel, Shirley (Gene) Nichols, Stanley (Cleo) Fandel, Tom (Jo) Fandel, Donald Fandel, and Mary Ilah Fandel. Her in-laws William (Ruth) McGuire, Donald (Verina) McGuire, Leonard McGuire, Patrick McGuire, Edward McGuire, David McGuire and Helen Bockenstedt. Carol was a loving, welcoming, caring person who was accepting of everyone who crossed her path. Her Catholic faith was her foundation and her family was her pride and joy.
